Information: This painting is a depiction of my struggle to remain in the life of my young daughter. The image depicts myself within a maelstrom of false allegations, legal processes and financial complications as a result of the mothers desire to prevent any relationship between myself and our daughter. I hope it also conveys a sense of the depth of despair, hopelessness and inability to succesfully challenge the prejudice that exists with our society but specifically within Social Services and the legal system against men.
The kite represents our daughter, where she if buffeted and effected by all that goes on in her parents life and the turmoil that exists as a result. she is the product of this but will hopefully successfully find calmer weather and find her own path in life and look back and see the truth.
In the words of Brian McFadden (songwriter)

It seems like only yesterday
I held you in my arms and said
You will never need to fear the dark
But unforeseen misery has come
Between your Mummy and me
We can love you more, now we're apart
Daddy, he's got to go away
'Cos there's just no other way
To live this through
Someday you'll learn to understand
This wasn't what I planned
For me and you
Sorry, love Daddy

Everyday is filled with pain
But never feel that you're to blame
Sometimes life breaks
In mysterious ways
I can make it up to you
Believe me, I am trying to
No matter what
You'll always be my babies
Daddy, he's got to go away
'Cos there's just no other way
To live this through
Someday you'll learn to understand
This wasn't what I planned
For me and you
Sorry, love Daddy
Daddy, he's got to go away
'Cos there's just no other way
To live this through

Someday you'll learn to understand
This wasn't what I planned
For me and you
Sorry, love Daddy
I'm sorry, love Daddy
